The report generation in WebRadar utilizes a cache of the content in WCM. When WebRadar is first installed, this cache will be initially empty. The Data Extractor is responsible for updating the WebRadar cache and can be configured by the Data Extractor link of the Admin tab.

The Data Extractor extracts content from WCM and stores it in WebRadar for generating reports. It will run these extraction routines continuously except for when it is in scheduled downtime, as defined by the suspension schedules. The first time an extraction is performed after installing WebRadar, all content from all available WCM Libraries will need to be copied into WebRadar's cache. This process can be time consuming and resource intensive. Once completed, however, all subsequent extractions will only include changes since the last extraction, meaning increased performance and less overhead. If you do not want all libraries to be cached, you can select which libraries to cache in the Select Libraries dialog. Changing the list of selected libraries will trigger a rebuild. The Cache Status field indicates whether WebRadar is currently caching data from WCM. If it is caching data, a progress bar will be displayed along with an estimate of the amount of time remaining to complete the process.
